The Avrora Robotics team became the winner in the first test of the Up Great robotic systems «Expedition. The earth.«

The competition, organized by the National Technology Initiative Foundation (NTI), is aimed at developing technologies for searching for hidden objects in the ground with subsequent application in humanitarian demining, engineering exploration and archeology. The tests took place at a specialized training ground of the Military Engineering Academy in Nakhabino. The participants were offered sites with pre—laid objects: fragments of ceramics, imitations of archaeological finds, mock-ups of mines and other targets.
The robots‘ task was to follow the route, collect data from ground-penetrating radars, magnetometers, lidars and other sensors, as well as determine the coordinates of detected objects and classify them. Several robotic complexes designed specifically for the project‘s tasks took part in the Avrora Robotics competition.
Our robots are equipped with a wide range of sensors that allow them to examine the ground at a depth of up to 1 meter and identify various objects and anomalies. Thanks to our patented comprehensive data analysis system, robots have been able to detect a significant portion of the search objects. A series of contests «Expedition. Earth« is a part of the Up Great technology competition system. In parallel, the «Expedition.Air«, dedicated to technologies of aerial survey of territories for the search of archaeological and potentially dangerous objects, and «Expedition.Data Science«, which develops solutions based on neuro—network methods for analyzing remote sensing data and three-dimensional terrain models.
